The Trainee Dressing Props assists the dressing props person during the course of a film/TV production. They must dress sets in pre-production, including working with fabrics and flooring to make sets look realistic for the period and setting of the film. They must strike (or undressing sets) at the end of shooting. They must work to design briefs and instructions from Dressing Props person. They must be prepared to work within the tight production schedule.
For this role, you will need:
An interest in art, design and film, and the ability to learn on the job.
Great attention to detail and observational skills.
Ability to take and accurately follow instructions. Ability to be flexible and problem solve when required.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadline and to work long hours in a physically demanding role.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Understanding of health and safety.
This is an entry level position. A Trainee Dressing Props may have a Film Studies qualification, but this is not essential. Enthusiasm and the ability to work hard are important.
