Art DepartmentTrainee Buyer

The Trainee Buyer works closely with the production buyer to source and purchase props or components of props to be made. They are responsible for purchasing or renting items according to the requirements of the designer. They must be able to learn on the job, and assist with problem solving as required.

For this role, you will need:

Great planning, communication, organisational, and scheduling skills.

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

Ability to understand how to work within budgets and timeframes.

Ability to understand and communicate other people’s requirements in a busy environment.

Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction.

Ability to learn on the job.

Full valid driving licence essential.

Career Path to Trainee Buyer:

This is an entry level position. A Trainee Buyer may have a Film or Film Art studies qualification, but this is not essential. It is important to have a portfolio of work.
