A Producer’s roles include having overall responsibility for the producing the project and managing the team. Being responsible for raising finance, and delivering the project on budget and schedule. Negotiating with broadcasters, financers and other partners and keeping relationships with all partners working smoothly. Finding and hiring talent. Making sure that enough people, technical and other resources are available to meet the creative goals of project.
For this role, you will need:
Many years experience in the animation industry, and strong knowledge of animation production processes and pipelines.
Strong business experience and understanding of finance, budgeting, scheduling and asset resourcing.
Strong networks in broadcasting and financing worlds.
Excellent communication skills at all levels. Ability to produce reports, presentations, lead team meetings and negotiate with partners and executives.
Ability to lead and motivate teams.
Ability to solve problems in highly pressurised environment.
Becoming a Producer often requires several years experience as production manager. Roles beyond this include: Studio or Broadcasting Executive. Producers often have a degree in Animation, Film, Business Studies, but many years experience in the industry is more important.
