The Matchmove Supervisor is the head of the matchmove department and is responsible for the quality control of all matchmove assets. They answer to the CG Supervisor but also work in conjunction with the HODs to ensure that matchmove assets are working consistently throughout the pipeline. This is a senior and important role, it requires an in depth knowledge of industry standard matchmove software and a thorough understanding of film cameras, lens and onset data, as well as management of the matchmove crew.
To succeed at this job, you need:
Several years experience in the Matchmove department. Excellent technical skills with Matchmove tools and an in-depth knowledge of film cameras and lens.
Excellent eye for details and an exacting nature with high standards. Can give precise and constructive feedback.
A broader show wide vision for how Matchmove assets will deliver to other downstream departments.
Great organisational skills and ability to manage a high shot load, while meeting production timetables and budgets.
Understanding of professional digital cameras and survey tools as well as a familiarity with onset hierarchy and etiquette.
Great interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to anticipate and solve issues and conflicts. Proven ability to manage and mentor a team, often with new entrants to the sector.
